Payment Terms

First project

Full payment in advance

Invoice upon appointment of services (payment within 5 working days). Work will commence upon payment.

Cost quoted covers full first and second drafts (if second draft required following discussion with you).

Subject to 3 (above), if a project is deemed to be lengthy and complex with many milestones, cost quoted will be set against agreed milestones (agreed mutually between us prior to appointment). Payment for each milestone covers first and second drafts.

Commissions for any subsequent drafts (after second draft) to be mutually agreed and subject to additional charges.
Subsequent projects

50% payment in advance (upon appointment) and 50% within 5 working days of completion.

Both invoices will be submitted upon appointment.

General Terms and Conditions

The Client is you.
-
The Business is Guy Thomas trading as Clear Water Copywriting.
-
Jurisdiction is the laws pertaining to England and Wales.
-
Quotation is the written scope of the Business’s work and the price charged therein.

Acceptance of quote the Client shall accept the quote by email. The date of the acceptance will be the date the email has been received by the Business.

Appointment of the Business by the Client shall be from the date the Business receives the acceptance of quote email from the Client. A delay in appointment may be agreed if both parties consent.

Approved copywriting brief is the material from which the work is to be based upon, provided by the Client and agreed between us.
-
Urgent work means copywriting work needed (finalised) for the Client within 5 working days, which may incur additional cost if other work needs to be rescheduled (and the impact this may have on the Business’s other clients).

Draft Revisions time limit up to 14 calendar days upon receipt of email for the Client to revise draft material and return to the Business (by email).

Meeting additional people the quotation does not include meeting agents, designers, or other persons unless specifically expressed. Any additional meetings outside the scope of the quotation will be charged per the Business’s rates of pay.

Additional journeys journey times to additional meetings (above) will be charged per the Business’s rates of pay

Change of scope the Client may, with good reason, amend the scope of the original works, so long as it is agreed with the Business, and on the understanding any extra works will incur additional charge.

Cancellation the Client and the Business reserve the right to cancel the works on the understanding the Client will be charged in full for works completed up to the date of cancellation.

Scope of Liability the Business’s maximum liability will up to the full amount of the quoted works, or up to the value of completed works at the time of early cancellation by the Client.

Assumption that all information provided by Client is legal and correct.

If the Client is an agency they must have the express permissions of their own client to outsource work to the Business.
-
If the Client is an agency the Business’s legal agreement and liabilities rest with the Client and not with the Client’s own client.
-
If the Client is an agency the Business is not liable if the Client’s copywriting brief to the Business does not meet the brief between the Client and their own client.

Failure to pay (or late payment) will be charged interest at a rate of 2% above the base rate of the Bank of England for the duration the monies are outstanding.
